So how are YOU going to propose to your darling dearest, after being together for so long? Well...

Scenarios:

1. Down on One Knee

Traditionally. Either in public or privately, one of you has taken the daring risk of becoming completely vulnerable in the midst of the other. You've got the perfect ring tucked into your coat jacket, and now all that's left is to see how the other reacts.

2. Cake

After a long, very expensive dinner, all that's left is dessert. In one bite in particular, you feel a hard...something hit your teeth. Upon investigating this strange object, you find a beautiful ring covered in cake in your hand. Look up, and you'll find your significant other looking at you with those adorable goo goo eyes you just love.

3. Fortune Cookie

It's your average night at the local Chinese resturant, nothing too special. And of course, every American knows that a good Chinese meal is never over until you eat the fortune cookie. But on this night, you crackopen your cookie, surprised to find there's a lovely little ring looking back at you. The slip of paper that goes with all fortune cookies reads a simple: "Will you marry me?" (in bed???)

4. During the Game

In the midst of the tired players taking their much earned break at half time, and the seemingly hundreds of birthday wishes flying past on the large screen, one message in particular will stand out to you. " ____ will you marry me?" And when you turn to your lover, heart thumping loudly, you'll see a huge ring presented before you.

5. In a Book

Just a quiet night together, playing some games, reading a few books. Upon locating a particular book, you crack it open, only to find that the pages have been hollowed out, leaving only a beautiful ring, and a delicate note saying "Will you marry me?" in its place.

6. During the Movies

A.k.a MysteryGuitarMan on Youtube's most adorable proposal. You've prepared a little scene at the beginning of the movies, and had the people in charge play in between movie previews. The lights go up, buddy, and now it's your time to shine!

7.One Balloon

Better known as "the most adorable scene in Super Junior's No One music video." You've got tons of balloons, and together you and your honey let them go fly into the sky. But why didn't you let the last one go? I'll say that ring attatched to the end has something to do with it!

8. Anything!

There is no doubt in my mind that I have missed out on some really cute proposals, so make your own up!

*A long time ago, Sonic would wonder what in the hell got into him to be thinking of a proposal like this. It was a little strange, but since when was Sonic by any means a mundane person?

*Preparations had been deliberate without being hurried. For once, everything was planned out on his part. The only unplanned part would be whatever Shadow did when he saw it.

*When Shadow would return to their home, he would find all the lights dimmed, but not completely off. All the doors were closed... except for the bedroom, which was a bit more lit than everywhere else.

*Should he enter, the sight before him, perhaps if not for the genuine sentiment behind it, would be so hilarious that anyone would consider laughing so hard to be their exercise for the day.

*Sonic was relaxed against the headboard of the bed, naked except for a bundle of black and red ribbons tied his throat. Between both ends of a smaller, curled ribbon that he held in his mouth, dangled a titanium silver engagement band with a small amount of blue inlaid in grooves on both sides. It wasn't flashy, as he knew of Shadow's general habits towards others, and it was compact enough to be worn under his gloves. No one the wiser would think a thing of it.

*But perhaps the most hilarious part of the whole display were the words "Will You Marry Me?" written on his fur in Shadow's favorite pudding (if he looked later, Shadow's personal stores of the treat were completely intact. Hey, if nothing else, he learned not to mess with that pudding!)*

[the whole idea of a proposal embarrasses robbie just by thinking of it, so what he did - which he thought was brilliant, by the way - was leave messages in erik's book so he doesn't have to do the traditional, kneel-on-one-knee kind of thing. and since erik had a stack of post-its, unused, why robbie thought it was high time for them to be of use.

so he started by leaving a note on erik's cel phone (good morning erik, and then on the bathroom door (i hope you forgive me for this roundabout way of talking to you), on the dresser door (but this is much easier), on his laptop screen (well perhaps not for you but i prefer this anyway), on the back of the door just before he walks out (i'm sorry, i'm not making any sense), on the wall on his right (i'm wasting your post-it as well. i'll buy you a new one i promise), on the door of the fridge (oh, there was a point to all of this but i forgot), on the coffee maker (i remember now: i'm sorry), on the cabinet drawer just where the coffee mugs are (i am horrible at communicating well enough to people who i like very much and so i figured - the message was continued on his coffee mug, where robbie wrote in cramped writing, you would appreciate my thoughts no matter how messy they are), on the package for coffee filters (did i just write tha oh no), on the package for the loaf of bread before he even thinks of getting out a slice for toast (what i mean to say is that i like you), on the toaster (in my dreams i i really like you).

and on the kitchen wall, somewhat a surrender, perhaps a hint of despair: this is quite addicting but i'm doing really bad at expressing myself, i hope you don't mind if i go into hiding now.

(he's not actually hiding, but he'd decided to go out and pick up some eggs from the store because they ran out, but he figured he'd tell erik that he did anyway, because that's what caused him to go out in the first place.]

[ This has been a long time in planning, actually. Since Nageki is often sick in bed, he's had a lot of time to think about things. And while Hitori is away at work, he's been able to sneak around a little and put things into place. Now, at last, he feels like it's time.

Part of the waiting has been because he thought maybe Hitori would make a move. They're always together, they're always cuddling and kissing and cooing over one another. They're all the other one even has in the whole world ... so it seems like this is the next logical step. But Hitori never makes a sign of it. Maybe Nageki's mistaken? But there's only one way to find out and honestly? He has nothing to lose.

It's evening time and Hitori is due to come back from teaching at any moment. Nageki makes sure he's dressed properly (nothing too fancy but nothing too hoboish either) and brushes his hair and sits down on the couch to wait. It's a beautiful, clear night and everything has to go perfectly well! ]

[ Dany deserves the best. She totally does. Peter knew that from the moment he met her -- that he was going to have to be his very best in order to keep her. So when the subject of, well, proposing came up, he was a little lost.

Dany deserves better than the best. Something that had never been done before. Something special -- something all about her, something that she would have to say yes to. Though he doesn't want to force her to say yes -- she should say it because she wants to! But maybe if he doesn't propose in the best way possible she'll say no? A thousand sighs and head scratches later, he's come to one conclusion.

Peter wants Dany to say yes. He wants to marry her, to love her for forever. But he also knows that her first marriage wound up in heartbreak. She was wounded. He needed... to be cautious. What if she never wanted to remarry? Peter wanted to talk about it many times, but how could he bring up marriage without it being obvious he was thinking about it? Oh, woe is him and his self-esteem.

But, he would do this. Definitely. He could totally ask her to marry him, and if she said no, it would be cool. It would be fine. Sure, Peter wants a yes, but he'd understand a no. In fact, it probably made more sense than a yes.

But boy, does he want a yes. Dany in a beautiful white dress -- all red cheeks and violet eyes? Be still, his heart.

In the end, he decided that simple was better. ( He had debated doves, but they poop. And then he considered an airplane smoke-spell proposal, but figured it was too expensive for everything that could go wrong with it. ) So, when Dany gets home today, there will be a little note waiting on the kitchen counter. ]
