*A long time ago, Sonic would wonder what in the hell got into him to be thinking of a proposal like this. It was a little strange, but since when was Sonic by any means a mundane person?
*Preparations had been deliberate without being hurried. For once, everything was planned out on his part. The only unplanned part would be whatever Shadow did when he saw it.
*When Shadow would return to their home, he would find all the lights dimmed, but not completely off. All the doors were closed... except for the bedroom, which was a bit more lit than everywhere else.
*Should he enter, the sight before him, perhaps if not for the genuine sentiment behind it, would be so hilarious that anyone would consider laughing so hard to be their exercise for the day.
*Sonic was relaxed against the headboard of the bed, naked except for a bundle of black and red ribbons tied his throat. Between both ends of a smaller, curled ribbon that he held in his mouth, dangled a titanium silver engagement band with a small amount of blue inlaid in grooves on both sides. It wasn't flashy, as he knew of Shadow's general habits towards others, and it was compact enough to be worn under his gloves. No one the wiser would think a thing of it.
*But perhaps the most hilarious part of the whole display were the words "Will You Marry Me?" written on his fur in Shadow's favorite pudding (if he looked later, Shadow's personal stores of the treat were completely intact. Hey, if nothing else, he learned not to mess with that pudding!)*
