Yeah, but we fixed all that. The apocalypse decides to start up again and I'm going to be pretty damn pissed after all the work we poured into patching things up.

I don't see why it'd require any significant amount of determination, considering the minimal effort one would have to go to in order to earn a slight from you.

[ she rolls her eyes ] If anyone here is putting too much effort into anything, it's you into arguing me out of liking you. That's not going to work, you know. I can only hope you realize I'm not here due to some sense of one of your befuddling human brands of antagonism.

A pretty useless move to begin with, seeing as I have a chainsaw.

It's kept people with bullshit space powers out in the past; I'm pretty sure it could stand up to a chainsaw. [ok so her breaking Dave's nose is what kept him out of her stuff, but that's not the point here]

What about bullshit space powers combined with a chainsaw?

That gives me license to use my bullshit time powers combined with the locks to combat your cheating.

Then what if I just used my space powers? How would your locks be able to hold up against them, anyway? Are they magic?

Yeah. They're magically distracting so that I can sneak up and beat the shit out of you.

That is pretty magical. Though, with your fatigued state, I do believe the advantage would be mine.

As tempting as that sounds, I actually have little to no interest in wrecking your place of residence in search for your hidden valuables, and so I'm afraid I must pass. [she gently takes hold of Kanaya's wrist, intending to just move her hand off her head. she's almost positive she really is feverish, but that doesn't mean she needs people mentioning it.]

Call me crazy, but I think all that means you're not exactly an expert on declaring fevers.

[ she blinks down at the contact -- the gentleness of it, more than anything -- lips parting slightly in surprise, before she catches herself and presses them back together. she lets Rose move her hand away, and wills herself back into snark-mode. ]

You may recall I brought a heat-gauge for that exact reason.

[luckily for Kanaya, Rose doesn't quite catch that little slip-up. it's kind of hard to read people's facial expressions when you're sick and all.]

And you may recall my opinion on using it.

My continued efforts of trying to grasp the reason why you're so against checking your own body temperature continue to be met with failure.

Then let me help you: because it's none of your business. I already know I'm sick, so there's no point to it.
