Looking to get this identified, or at least some manner of taxonomy I can follow up on. [His other hand reaches into a pocket while he talks, probably for a smoke.]

Iris [his techomancy assistant, if you dont remember Game Lore From Several Years Ago lmfao] couldn't get a read on the thing. You were the closest plant expert I knew. So here I am.

I'll see what I can figure out. Though it might take some time... [ Tsumugi wouldn't call himself an expert by any means, but he knows a fair bit! And he's gotten his hands on a number of books about otherworldly plants that might go beyond Iris's resources (however that works. he's not a tech person).

So after offering Rei a seat in the cafe space and a drink of choice, he sets the potted plant down across from himself and begins flipping through books. Eventually, he find a potential match, but... ]

Are you soft? [ It's a question directed at the plant, as he delicately pinches a leaf between his fingers. ]

[ ... only for the plant to immediately spit pollen in his face from one of its blooms, as though offended that he DARE touch one of their leaves.

[Tsumugi really gives 5 star service, don't he? A table AND a drink for an annoying, definitely-smoking-inside interloper? He shouldn't have. (He really shouldn't have. Rei is lighting up and resting his feet on a second chair as we speak.)

Rei is interrupted from so rudely settling in, though, when his host is doused in pollen. Ah, shit.]

Tsumugi!

[Abandoning his smoke Rei moves from his seat to Tsumugi's side with more quickness than Tsumugi has probably ever seen before. If that plant is poisonous Rei is in SOOOO much trouble with Ichiro.]

Up you come. Hold your breath. [The voice and hands that lift Tsumugi to standing are firm, but not unkind.] You got an emergency eyewash station? Just nod. Otherwise I'm hustlin' you to the sink--

[ Ah. Rei is quite reliable when he wants to be, isn't he? Which isn't the kindest thought, but it's what comes to mind as those firm hands guide him away from the mystery plant.

Tsumugi holds his breath and just nods, as requested, but his voice also comes crystal clear directly to Rei's mind thanks to his cognitive magic. ]

(It's in the back, on the left.) [ He'd gotten it installed just in case, because the last thing he wanted to do was take his chances with magical plants he'd only just begun learning about. Turns out past Tsumugi was very smart to do so.

He grips the back of Rei's shirt, letting him do the steering while he. well. does the stumbling. ] (It doesn't hurt... but I'm feeling flush?) [ so probably not actively dying??? hurray??? rei can avoid ichiro's wrath for another 5 seconds-- ]

[Rei almost scolds Tsumugi for talking, after he said not to-- but remembers at the last second that oh yeah, telepathy. He's been in Avalon for how long now... Sheesh. Medical emergencies really take his mindset back to Japan.]

Pyrexia already? Seems fast. [This muttered comment is more to himself than to Tsumugi. And while the boy clinging to him as they take the ten steps to the back (good luck keeping up with that 190cm stride moogi) can't see it, Rei frowns a little. That's not great.

But. Emergency steps first.]

All right. Clear 'em out.

[One of Rei's hands takes Tsumugi's and leads it to the rim of the eyewash station. The other makes sure he's stable, then pats his shoulder and lets go.] I'll get ya a towel. An' a glass. Gotta wash out your other mucosa besides.

[This is extremely not sexy behavior. But maybe the rapidly-cooling heat on Tsumugi's skin from the absence of Rei's large hands is??]

[ ... yeah, he can't say this is the sexiest display that he's ever. uh. not technically seen, since he's flushing his eyes of the pollen, but you get the drift. But he's got bigger concerns at the moment.

Like how he finds himself immediately missing the feeling of Rei's hands on his body. Which is... strange, to say the least. Rei's attractive, yes, but he's never felt drawn toward physical intimacy with him before. minus the time they snissed Kazunari surely wouldn't mind - heck, he'd probably be "totes jelly" of anything they could do - but with his strong bond with Ichiro... It'd be too awkward, wouldn't it? So he shouldn't even entertain the thought.

But there's not much else to do while standing there, bent over the basin of the eyewash station. He could try and focus on the water itself - its temperature, and the way it feels against his skin - but to do that is to turn his attention to the heat radiating off his body. He can't see how flush he is, but he feels the warmth tingling in his cheeks, trailing up to his ears and back to his neck.

When Rei eventually hands over that towel, Tsumugi's hand lingers in his much larger one. ]

... Thank you for taking care of me, Rei-san.
