Who knows. All that is important now is you are involved in a slumber party ritual and you have to participate. No. Seriously. You are compelled to.

Also, you may be wearing a slumber party outfit... whether it's appropriate or not is up to how cruel your mun is the fates.

I believe it works on the same principle as 'you break it, you buy it'. I've never once forced you to put anything in your hair, so it's not my fault if you break one.

I realize that you must not have gone to many sleepovers, but I would have assumed you would know what a pillow fight is.

(Really? Alright, she didn't want to have to actually get up, but clearly he's going to make her. Pushing to her feet, the last of her ammunition clutched in one hand, she arched a brow)

And honestly, if you're not even going to try to have fun, then why are you here?

(If she were anyone else, it might be unnerving just how well he's able to see through her. But Alice just tries a little harder, batting her lashes and giving him the biggest puppy dog eyes she can manage)

Am I really so difficult? (It's asked in all innocence, but she doesn't bother waiting for an answer before making another dive. This time for the pillow in his hand)

You - [ And there, she's got the end of the pillow. He lets out an overdramatic sigh. ] Clearly are. [ He tries to tug it back. You know he needs that! For self-defense. ]

I'm simply doing what I can to keep your life interesting. (She teased, lips curved into a triumphant little smile) You might grow bored without me. (Hand it over, Jefferson. There's no defense that can stop her)

And as usual you've succeeded. [ He relinquishes the pillow, with a very catlike I-didn't-want-it-anyway expression. ] My life will never be ordinary again.

(Her smile faltering slightly, for once not an act, she hugged the pillow to her chest) Would you prefer that? An ordinary life?

[ She gets a look like she's just sprouted eight extra heads; his voice has a sharp edge that wasn't present before, a hint of desperation. ] No!

Good. (While her smile is back, as if it had never disappeared to begin with, there's a strange kind of relief at his answer. As if she truly wasn't sure what he was going to say) It was worth asking, I suppose.

[ If he weren't still crawling out of that moment of near-panic, he'd pay more attention to her discomfort. As it is, he tugs the pillow back towards himself slightly, for something to do with his hands, and shakes his head. ]

The answer is always going to be no. A loud no. I had enough of that.

(Despite her own moment of doubt, she doesn't relinquish her grip on the pillow, instead using his pull as an excuse to move closer. Just slightly) Good. Because I've gotten rather used to having you around. (What? That was totally a compliment)

[ Used to it she might be, but it's actually been some time for him since - family, completeness, all that. He hesitates again, tempted to move away, but then half-shrugs and drums his fingers ineffectually on the seam of the pillow. ]

(Slowly, and with great reluctance, she forces her fingers to uncurl from the thin material of the pillowcase. Holding both hands up so her palms were facing him. Not a surrender quite yet, just letting go of this particular weapon)
