sleep, sleep, sleep

For some reason you are at a slumber party. No. Seriously. You are at a slumber party. DON'T QUESTION IT. You can be there by choice, or maybe just the will of the universe teleported you there. Who knows. All that is important now is you are involved in a slumber party ritual and you have to participate. No. Seriously. You are compelled to.
Also, you may be wearing a slumber party outfit... whether it's appropriate or not is up to
Or maybe you just really were invited to a slumber party. Who knows, that's half the fun~

I should call the sheriff. Have you handcuffed.

Everything appears to be intact. You wouldn't want to waste the sheriff's time like this, would you?

If I told you . . . That wouldn't be much fun.

Perhaps not, but I was starting to think you were against all fun.

All fun? . . . No. Not all fun.
[ He tilts her chin up with two fingers, almost roughly, considering her. He's not exactly what he remembers, through the fog of two lives lived, and he's not sure what she remembers, or doesn't - what she blames him for, or has forgiven, or never knew. She's made him smile, though. He hadn't expected that. ]

Jefferson...
(It was barely a whisper, pained, as she searched for the right words. To apologize, to attempt to ease his guilt. But she'd always been better at lying. Truth was messy, complicated and painful. Lies were whatever she made them
With a gentle shake of her head, she attempted a smile once more. It was weak, even for her, never managing to reach her eyes, but it was there all the same)
You could have fooled me.

Don't I always?
[ And that's a lie, too - because since she'd gone he'd become disgustingly transparent, nothing like the man she once knew, not even like the man he became. He loves her, and it's a weakness, but he can't help himself. Even after all this time, through the tears and frustration and madness, he can't not love her. ]
[ The kiss is light, barely there, more a breath than a brush of lips - and he lets his fingers wander to a wisp of hair at her temple, brushing it back. ]
[ That's all he knows how to do. ]

And wasn't love the messiest truth of all?
It comes so quickly that she can't even prepare for it. Feather light, a gentle heat against her lips. Then it's gone, and yet she can't bring herself to move. Not closer, not further away. Too afraid that anything she does might spoil it.
This one, perfect moment.
Her eyes drifting closed, she turns her face. Just enough so that his fingertips brush gently across her cheek)

[ He won't say it now - he can't say it now - but he can look at her. And he does, frowning, almost puzzled at the fact that she's truly here. ]
You . . .
[ And what to say after that? Isn't that all of it? Fear and confusion bubbling in his stomach at the way she doesn't move, doesn't step forward or backward, he makes a snap decision as he always does and pulls her forward roughly. This is a different kind of kiss. ]
[ Somehow, even now, he has hope. But hopes have been dashed before. ]

It's the sound of his voice that has her eyes drifting open. The memory of a time when those words had been spoken to her in genuine admiration, over the sound of their racing heartbeats. There wasn't enough time to formulate a response before she was being crushed against his chest, his lips pressed to hers with bruising force.
Once again, he had managed to catch her off her guard, and several brief moments passed before she could force herself to move. When she finally did, it was quickly, easily. As if they had never stopped. One arm looped around his waist, fingers curling in the material of his shirt and holding him to her, while her free hand cupped the back of his neck gently)
