Your face is pathetic. [ There's no bite, so no. No it is not in fact pathetic as he works on undoing his jeans. ] Sure it wasn't.

[ He walks with a slight sway as he peels the wet pants off of him, grumbling under his breath about it. There's a moment where he's silently thankful John is not there to see him balancing on one foot, then the other, to get the fucking things off. ] I don't really care, bro. If they're clean, I'll put 'em on. Bit looser than what I usually wear, but whatevs.

[ Ah, boxer briefs are now a go as he tries to empty his pockets a bit belatedly. ]

Yeah well that's what you get for wearing leggings as pants. --Oh, I'm sorry, skinny jeans. That are probably girl's sizes. [He fucking can't get enough of making fun of you right now. He'll make it up to you with soup and soothing piano or something later. He snags a pair of boxers and throws them in the dryer, too, wandering back into the back foyer of his father's house to give Dave his towel.]

[He's pointedly looking at the ceiling.]

That would actually be a valid insult if I had a mom. Shenanigans don't count. [ He snorts as he pries his wallet from one of his back pockets. ] What, haven't you heard of sexual healing before? Totally a valid thing.

[ To be honest, he's not actually that bothered by John being a little shithead at the moment. He's mostly paying attention to what he's doing, making sure that his shit isn't soaked through like his clothes were. Nothing that can't be salvaged, anyways. Soup and piano sounds nice, though. ] No, because chick sizing is fucking confusing as hell.

Thanks. [ He takes the towel, though before he uses it he winds it up to flick at him for being a brat. ]

Yeah but snot is still really gross!! And I'll be your mom. Which I guess means I definitely just insulted myself. Damn.

[Laughs.] It's odd numbers and not actually in inches, because girls don't want to walk around saying "oh yeah I'm a size 34," they'd rather say "oh I wear a size 2!!" because they always think they're fat no matter what.

[Pause.] I really probably shouldn't know that, should I.

[Laughs, and swats the towel back.] You're welcome, jackass.

Snot totally doesn't have to be a factor in it, y'know. Though I'd kinda be bummed out about the whole 'shit I can't get my mack on' thing. [ Pauses. ] Also no, you don't need to be my mom, that's cool.

[ And then he slowly... raises a brow, cocking his head a bit. Even he didn't know that, and he is a bastion of stupid knowledge, as everyone knows. ] Probably not. You the one sportin' the chick pants, babe?

[ But he'll actually, y'know. Use the towel now, though he'll be taking his shades off and handing them to John before he does. ]

[John takes pity on him a little, and moves up to take the shades with a fond smile, turning them over in his hands.] I'm gonna get sick taking care of you anyway, so I guess a little macking is okay. Just don't sneeze on me. Snot is seriously kind of nasty.

[Makes a face.] Geez not everyone is actually ironic and detached when it comes to their female best friends and ecto-siblings. Rose explained it to me because I didn't get what Jade was talking about when she was saying she couldn't believe Rose wore a size four. You know me, when I want to know something I'm annoying as shit until someone tells me.

[ Thank you, John. Dave appreciates this greatly, and goes about making a royal mess of his hair to start off with as he listens to him. ] Cross my heart 'n hope to die, won't start sneezing on you. 'cause yeah, just sneezing alone is gross, I don't wanna make shit worse by sneezing on other people.

[ He doesn't even need to see John to know what face he's making. ] I'm not ironically detached from my female best friends 'n ecto-siblings. I just don't really care all that much when clothes are brought into the equation. Also, Rose 'n I snipe at each other more than anything else, but we don't exactly resort to size insults.

[ Opens his mouth to say something, and then it audibly clicks closed again as he sort of just uses the towel as cover for a second. ] ... yeah no. Sayin'.

[ Nevermind. Tugs the towel down so he can dry the rest of himself, and then just... wrap it around his waist so he can shuck his boxer-briefs. ] Consider me enlightened beyond my wildest dreams.

[He's just quiet for a minute with Dave's shades in his hands, inspecting them like they're the most interesting things in the world.]

...well you know. Probably helpful for when you get married, or something.

[ Welp. He cocks his head a bit, sort of like a confused puppy would more than a bird for once, and simply looks at John.

But before he can actually say anything to that right off, he sneezes. ]

Goddamnit. [ Snuffle. ]

[And John snaps right out of his temporary mood, flinching and then laughing a little bit, wandering back down the hallway and grabbing the clothes out of the dryer.]

Here, dude. You've got to be freezing. [Snot be damned, he moves forward to just kind of pull Dave into a hug with the dryer-warmed clothes in his arms.]

[ At least his stupid sniffling and sneezing has some sort of benefit at the moment. He rubs the back of a fist across his nose, somewhat agitated but also sort of not really keen on having a John in a mood. ]

Insert typical whinin', bitchin', 'n mo--oh that's really nice. [ Snot be damned, at least he's not oozing it everywhere yet. He shifts so he can wrap his arms around John, content to just stand there in the towel with the clothes sandwiched between them. ]

[John is kind of really bad at moods, because he gets in them but then ignores them and refuses to talk about them!! Like he is doing now. But gosh Dave, you are sick and don't need to be worrying about me.]
