THE SICK DAY MEME
RULES► Post with your character, name and fandom in the header.
► They are now, for some odd reason, sick (headache, fever, runny nose, cough, whatever you want).
► Another character replies and is struck with the sudden urge to take care of them (bringing them soup, extra blankets, Sudafed, sexual healing, what have you).
► Go from there!

[He shoves the drawer back in the dresser, opens the second to find the black underarmor suit...thing, pulls that out, shoves the second drawer back. War stands carefully, looks at all he laid out.]
Why do you help me?
no subject
Well... it's kind of like, the normal thing to do, right? I mean, you're mean and I don't like you that much, but I don't hate you enough to leave you for dead.
no subject
Were your charity common. But would I have died?
[It's a question to himself as much as it's one not meant to be answered. Most of his exhaustion had been brought from the massacres. He'd ridden from one battle to the next, killed any who made to stop him along the way. The sword had its fill. More.
War removes his robe, slowly pulls on his underarmor, lower and upper, ties the numerous sashes, dons his cowl. He doesn't notice he's leaning to one side, soon to fall over.]

[She figures he would have died, but seeing as he doesn't eat, she can't say anything for sure. In the meantime, he does look kind of... unsteady, still.]
Um... I'm not sure you should be moving around so soon.

My time of staying is finished.
[Days is long enough to be anywhere. But even as War speaks, he has second thoughts. Maybe he simply won't leave right away, for even he knew when action was folly. At least, so he'd like to think.]
What do you suggest, Anise?
[It takes a lot for him to ask that, and after he asks, he realizes she doesn't know his name. War'd gotten used to everyone he met knowing who he was.]
no subject
You know... read a book, try a hobby, get some sleep... stuff like that?

NOPE. War pushes himself from the bed, walks towards the door. Almost kicks himself, but that's because he's unused to being barefoot. He raises his natural arm, nearly breaks the door from its hinges, but you can thank his hazy mind for saving the innkeeper replacement fines.
He steps out of the room, walks stiffly. This hallway is so small. But she said it was just outside...]

[As for him collapsing again? Follow if you want to find out, Anise. War shoulders open another door, only for the guest inside to scream and press the security button repeatedly. He steps back, walks on. Where's the damn lobby?]
no subject
Come on, you're just going to hurt yourself! Stupid!
no subject
Is charred. Part of it. War looks over at a neigh and his horse trots towards him. The ropes around Ruin's neck and head trail behind him, iron stakes tied to the end clang against the ground. Ruin stops at War's side, shakes his head, shifts his flaming hooves. Good thing the ground's dirt and dust.
War thinks of leaving, but there's nowhere he really needs to go. Nowhere he can - not where he's supposed to. Maybe, just this once, he'd do well to stay.]
no subject
You're going to pay for that, right?
... You owe me for the inn room, too.
no subject
What payment would you have?
[His tone's soft, steady enough to make it clear Anise can weave any story she wants, and War will see it through.]

You'll have your pay. No cent more.
[War heads back towards the inn, a slow walk. Days. He'd been here for days. War doesn't trust Anise to be truthful. But he doesn't consider she could've changed the records.]
no subject
... Oh, come to think of it, I never got your name. [Money comes before names, naturally.]
no subject
I am War.
[Then he ducks inside.]
no subject
War? ... That's a name?

[War stops in front of the receptionist's desk. Glances to the side he thinks Anise is on. Brief concern she'll jump in and lie for more money. The receptionist blinks, looks up at him.
"You're the one they called security on."]
Room 3. How long have I been here?
[She doesn't move. War's fingers slowly curl.]
no subject
[And she follows him up to the desk, glancing between War and the receptionist, sensing tension... This calls for some negotiation! She looks to the receptionist with a grin, hoping some cuteness can defuse the situation.]
That's just because he went stumbling around while he was still half-awake.
Anyway, he's picking up the tab for our room, so you might as well let him know what he's paying for! ♥

The receptionist smiles slightly at Anise, but it fades into a questioning look. Then she frowns and checks the records. "...Four days. $120 total - you stumbled in on 75% off week."
War tromps towards his room. The receptionist looks after him, then leans forward and whispers to Anise. "Will he really pay for it? He doesn't look the sort. Assuming that's not a costume in the first place." Her eyes narrow. This some stupid prank?]
no subject
[She tries to sound confident, but her gaze wanders to where War went, and she stays alert for any signs of sudden movements. The one thing she absolutely wouldn't tolerate is being left with the bill.]
no subject
"You're joking. I can't compute this!" She looks at Anise. "He's joking, right?"
War knows he paid slightly over. It's a precaution in case Anise whittled money out of them, previously or now.]
