[She thinks she has no idea who he is, but he doesn't look so good...]

Are you okay, mister?

[Yes, he may have...overtaxed himself just a bit. He isn't wearing his gauntlet, after all. The real agony spasms have passed, but it still hurts, god it hurts, and the strain of it is all over his face as he turns to look at her. He wasn't expecting anyone else here - largely the reason he decided to collapse here in the first place - and he has to catch his breath at first.]

Of course. I am perfectly fine. [Green hair. He's always found those modern dyes obnoxious. But...he could almost believe hers is natural. When her aura hits him, all he can do is stare: he hasn't felt magic like that in another for decades, at least.] Who are you?

[She looks a little anxious as he stares her down, and might even take a step back at first.]

My name is Saria. [She tries to maintain a concerned smile.] Really, you don't look so good...

[matrixmage]

[It wouldn't do to scare away the first truly talented child he's seen in so long. He shuts his eyes and takes a few deep breaths, centering himself.] I am Malachite.

[He omits his old titles; they wouldn't mean a thing to her anyway. Instead, he tries to force himself upwards, using his staff to help lever himself into a sitting position. He makes it about halfway there before his vision suddenly starts swimming again and he sags, supporting himself on the stick. Definitely too much magic, this time.]

[Her eyes widen a little bit as he falters, trying to catch a shoulder, looking him over with concern.]

What happened to you, mister Malachite?

[matrixmage]

[He used up too much of his energy disposing of the technology-obsessed husks of humanity polluting society with their filth.]

It is an affliction common to magic users. It will - pass in time.

[He allows her to catch his shoulder, using the opportunity to get a better mental look at her power. Impressive for one so young.] Are your parents nearby, Saria?

[sylvan_child]

[She looks him over with concern. She has no idea of the penalties of magic; it doesn't really work that way in her world.]

My...parents?

[matrixmage]

[He'd just assumed she was too inexperienced to have encountered it, really. He arches an eyebrow behind his sunglasses.]

Your mother and father.

[sylvan_child]

[She never had a mother, pretty much literally. But as for her father, she thinks back to the Great Deku Tree and sadness crosses her face.]

He died a long time ago...

[Oh.]

I see. My apologies. [He actually means it. Mostly.]
