[the scoff barely gets a reaction from himuro, with it being a sound that was very common to hear from defiant students. that slightly defiant hiss that noted the person's unwilling defeat: it was not a feeling he particularly enjoyed or felt victorious over, but it was satisfying to be able to teach his student proper rights and wrongs.

he does however, perk up at N's confession, his frown alleviating a touch. regretful, yet unapologetic... it was workable, definitely having the potential to remedy this little anger issue N was having at the slightest mention of animal abuse. his concern on that matter was commendable, but he'd need to be taught patience if he wished to go far with it.]

[bleh!!! he hates being in detention, being in trouble sucks. as he contemplates his teachers words, he glances up and sees himuro half-asleep and contemplates asking him if he's tired or something. but oh! N remembers to think before he acts, and he thinks it would be pretty pointless to ask an almost-sleeping person if they're tired. nevermind how...pleasant himuro looks with his face not in that critical expression of is, N wonders if maybe he should call out to him to prevent him from falling asleep or if it would be appropriate to leave him be.

N decides it doesn't even fucking matter in the end anyway, he's not alarm clock and if mister himuro is that tired then he's going to fall asleep either way no matter what, so N stops staring at him like a creep and resumes...writing...and tries not to glance up at his teacher every now and then...because he doesn't want to be a creep...]

no. no no no he has to stay awake. if he falls asleep it means a drop in his guard and N has a very great potential to escape. himuro has supervised detentions long enough to know that there is not one kid who enjoys it and would escape if given the chance. he can't give N this chance, no matter how tired he feels... he must... stay awake...
