Jim watches them both for a moment--hey, that balancing-the-kid trick is cool, on his hip, he'll have to remember that--and then he pulls out his communicator. A few moments are taken up with typing out a message on it, and then he engages the audio function.
"Kirk to Uhura."
"Go ahead, Captain."
"Uhura, I'm going to send you a text communication when I end this comm. Please forward it to Winona Kirk, on Earth. Use my personal transponder code."
"Right away, Captain."
"Thanks. Kirk out."
He puts the communicator away, a small smile tugging at his lips. "There. I've asked my mother to check around for more cows, and to forward them to me when she can."
